1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, logging in, or using Symy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Symy is an AI companion that helps you reflect on the real cost of purchases in terms of your life's time and hold the green gate at moments of decision. The Service includes chat interactions with an AI companion, spending reflections, green alternative and reuse-first suggestions, gamified guardian challenges, optional email receipt monitoring (if you connect an email account), and community guardian features. Symy is an educational and reflective tool — it is not a financial advisor, therapist, or medical service.

3. Not Financial, Legal, or Medical Advice

The Service does not provide investment, tax, legal, medical, or therapeutic advice. AI-generated reflections, stories, and responses are for educational and reflective purposes only and may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for your own decisions, regardless of any AI suggestion, reflection, or pattern the Service shows you. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial, legal, or medical decisions.

4. User Accounts & Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@symy.ai.

5. User Data & Privacy

We process your data as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. You may request data export or account deletion at any time — see the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Abuse, harass, threaten, or intimidate other users, Symy staff, or any person through the Service;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive source code from the Service;
• Disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service's servers, networks, or APIs;
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose, including money laundering, fraud, or violating financial regulations;
• Share, sell, or transfer your account credentials or attempt to access another user's account;
• Submit malicious, deceptive, or harmful content (including malware or phishing links) through the chat or email monitor;
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service except through our publicly documented APIs.

7. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses third-party AI providers (such as Letta AI and GLM / Zhipu) to generate reflections, stories, and responses. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or outputs that do not reflect Symy's philosophy. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content. You are responsible for evaluating any AI output before acting on it. Symy is not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated content.

8. Email Monitoring (Optional Feature)

If you choose to connect an email account for receipt scanning, you grant the Service limited access to scan for purchase-related emails (such as order confirmations, receipts, and refund notices). Email credentials are encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not read emails unrelated to purchases, and we do not sell or share email content with third parties. You may disconnect email monitoring at any time from Settings, which revokes the Service's access to your email account.

9. Premium Subscription (When Available)

Some features may require a paid Premium subscription ("Premium"). Premium is offered on a monthly or annual basis. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law. You may cancel Premium at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may change Premium pricing with at least 30 days' notice before the next billing cycle. Free-tier features remain available without charge.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service's software, design, branding, and content (excluding user-generated content and AI-generated responses to your inputs) are owned by Symbiotic Lab and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as chat messages and reflections).

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Symbiotic Lab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $50 USD, whichever is greater).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Symbiotic Lab and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. We will retain your data as described in the Privacy Policy (typically deleted within 30 days of account deletion).

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes (such as changes to fees, liability, or data practices), we will notify you via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may delete your account as described in Section 13.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (for users in mainland China) and the laws of the jurisdiction where Symbiotic Lab is registered (for users outside mainland China), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and Symbiotic Lab agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days before initiating legal proceedings.
